I will tel you exactly why: I live in a middle class neighborhood. Regular every day working people, in little houses.
A “pill mill” opened a few blocks from my house. Crime has increased, including vandalism and burglary of the surrounding homes, businesses and cars.
AT 7 in the morning there is a line out the door, even on mornings like today when it was about 40 degrees outside.
How would you feel if this was happening across the street from your home? If your children played outside while 20 drug addicts watched them while waiting for their drugs?
How do these people behave when they are high? How do they behave when they are waiting for drugs? What do they do when they can not get the drugs? What other crimes do people on drugs commit?
Drugs rarely hurt the person doing them the most, they hurt the people that love them and weaken the community and country.
Nobody does heroin or Oxycontin recreationally. And most if not all of those people started out smoking a little weed, taking a valium, or estacy on a Friday night.
“making your own decision” does not include leaving used and infected needles in someone elses bushes or driveway. It does not include committing armed burglary to get money for drugs. It does not include running a 5 year old on a bike over becasue you passed out at the wheel.

Because when dumbasses that don’t know how to controll them selves get on the drugs, they do stupid things the harm and endanger the lives/propperty of others!

As for all the drugs, I cannot answer. But for marijuana, there are many big money corporations that dont want it legal because it would hurt them financially. For example, material. It is cheaper to grow and maintain, plus more durable than cotton. So, the cotton industry doesnt want any part of marijuana being legal. And the cooking oil industry. You can make good and healthy cooking oil from the seeds of marijuana that is better than the ones out there now. They certainly dont want it to be legal for obvious financial reasons, even if it is better and healthier for the people to cook with. Its all about money. And the pharmacuticals, there are all types of medicinal values to marijuana, they certainly dont want it legal. so, there are some reasons marijuana is not legal.
As for the other drugs, well, they are pretty bad and to legalize them would basically be saying we approave of their usage. But there is a country in Europe where they put all the needle users in one town. So, if they infect each other, it stay within their own community and doesnt affect the non needle users. That is kinda good approach.
Hope that helps.
