Question by Mary Nunn: How is alcoholism and drug addiction different?
My son’s father is a drug addict and I almost never allow him to see his father. One of my best friends is an alcoholic and I am trying to help her through it. They both act very similar and I’m wondering if there is any difference between being a drug addict and an alcoholic. Both can be violent and I don’t ever allow them around my son when they are high or drunk. It’s very hard not to distance myself from these people totally.

I think that by taking drugs you are more likely to die because they do more damage to your body. But being an alcoholic is just as bad, you could get alcohol poisoning and when you get that you throw up blood, yea I’m sorry it’s gross but it’s the truth. BUT both of them are very very bad there really is no specific difference NEVER attempt to anything drug or alcohol related :)
