Drug Rehabilitation, quick and easy
Would you consider this a person with a mental disorder?
Question by ShannaBee: Would you consider this a person with a mental disorder?
I don’t know much about borderline personality disorder but what are exactly the signs? I’m trying to get help for someone who I think may have it.
The person I’m talking about:
1. Lies manipulatively, literally can’t tell the truth
2. Blames others for their own doings or when faced with consequences
3. Gets angry easily
4. Bullies and harasses other deemed lower and unworthy
5. Very inscecure about weight/looks and will pick on others to make self feel better
6. Has history with meth, marijuana and a current alcoholic
7. Quick to assume things about people without proof
8. Moves through jobs and sexual partners often(even though they have a “steady” partner)
9. Paranoid
10. The person gets jealous easily
11. When angry, acts immaturely

This person has some serious problems but they could be drug induced mostly. I’d seek drug counciling and mental health counciling simultaneously.

I didn’t read the top of your question before reading the numbered lines – but I was already thinking BPD. I was diagnosed with BPD and that sounds just like it.
You should try reading “I Hate You, Don’t Leave Me: Understanding the Borderline Personality”
After being diagnosed this is the book the psychiatrist gave me. It has helped me understand it better.

It sounds as though they have antisocial or borderline personality disorder rather than a mental illness.
Read the symptoms listed here – sound familiar? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/antisocial_personality_disorder

idk about the exact diagnosis but she has a problem. She you can only help her if she is not so far gone as to not recognize her problems. I know a person almost like her but worse, the only reason she can get by is ’cause she doesn’t know what she does. She takes multiple prescription drug like amphetamines, opiates and tranquiliazer thru about a dozen different doctors. She would make me promise not to tell and then speak loudly about it in public. The only reason I had put up with her is that she is too stupid to do any real harm. I dropped her like a rock. She believes her own lies which is why she is so good at it. I suggest you drop her out of your life if possible.

It sounds as if you are pretending(to yourself, mainly,) that your interest is of detached helpfulness, but perhaps you are wanting a diagnosis of ‘barmy’ for someone you dont like,in order to make you feel better. You cant make yourself sane by telling someone else that they’re nuts!
My reasoning?.mental disorders wont present with all ‘negative’ symptoms, but your list is all negative.
-if you dont like someone, just tell him he’s a c**t and dont worry about what he thinks-its simpler.and honest
If you dont like my answer, practise on me…………..

Borderline personality disorder are people we call ‘cutters’. What you are describing is probably just the drug and alcohol use.
