Can anyone please help me? What is the best way for an alcoholic to quit drinking, rather than cold turkey???
AA isn’t working, and he won’t take the pill that makes you sick, but he does want to quit. Any more ideas?

if it’s not cold turkey it’s anibuse, a court ordered pill that makes you sick with one sip

So, recently I’ve been writing a book about a 17 year old junkie with a timid, pathetic, but very wealthy mother, clinical depression and a very cynical/sarcastic outlook on life. His name is Jason. In August his mother drags him along to an alumni dinner for her and he meets a girl named Ellie, who, although a few years younger than himself, is very intriguing (not Pollyanna or Lolita intriguing, she’s really just annoying at first). He hates her upon their first meeting, where she describes herself as a “narcissist” and a “nymph”, but he ends up calling her again later and becomes “infatuated” with her.
Three weeks pass, and it’s almost Jason’s birthday. On the day before, Jason is with Ellie and she is listing all the things he’ll be able to do once he’s of age, and mentions that they won’t be able to be in their “relationship” anymore, because she’s only 14. That night, Ellie calls up Jason, is crying, and tells him to meet her at the park. When he arrives, she is flaming with anger and beats him up, then leaves. Reverting back to his old escape from reality, which is drugs, Jason overdoses on Heroin and passes out in the street. He describes the experience, after passing out, as “being flushed down a tunnel of sticky red towards a white light, intimidating but perfect for [him]“.
Jason has a foggy experience of waking in the hospital with doctors around him, but it varies between this scene and the one with the white light. The doctors say that he’ll be alright, but not wanting to have to deal with the pain of living, he wills himself to die. He falls down a “rabbit hole”, so to speak, and when he emerges from the other end, he has been reincarnated.
The years pass and we find he has been born as a pretty, hopeful young girl. There is still a presence of his original self, however, though it is less strong as it was when he was in his own head. Then in August, the girl’s parents take her to an alumni dinner, where she meets a dark teenage boy,
“Hi, I’m Ellie.”
I know that was an incredibly long synopsis (especially for such a simple question), and most of it was unnecessary…whoops :/
Anyway, if you have an idea as to what I should call it, please leave any suggestions below :3

I am trying to get off heroin. I am not a heavy user but I do get withdrawls. I switched from oxys to heroin because the pills were too expensive. I can’t fuck up my future by going to clinics and doctors as I want to enlist. I am not a junkie, I just want to get clean without having to get extremely sick. I live in the US just outside Boston, MA but struggle to find Suboxone on the streets. Why is it easier to get drugs than stuff to get off drugs? stupid… Anyway, can anyone help me out with a site or a way to get Suboxone without having to go see doctors? Thank you in advance.

Yeah, you have a point. You might be able to find a clinic that will help you for free or at low cost.

It’s driving me mad now… She died because she was a heroin addict.. If it was anyone else we would be like o well their own fault as so is this! Most of us with half a brain knows the effects of heroin I don’t understand if people know it’s going to kill them why take that risk!!!…
Think we need to spend our time on the concerns of people who are heros.. The person how battles with cancer & still smiles even if they are in so much pain just to stop the people they love seeing their pain!! Or someone who risks their life to fight for their country.. To me they are the people who should have the tributes & praises!!
Therefore I myself don’t care if some junkie is dead! Yeah she had talent but she wasted it and that’s her own fault!

A.A PROGRAM WILL HELP SOMEONE SUFFERING FROM THEIR KILLER ADDICTION TO ALCOHOL.DONT ABANDON THEM ,IF YOU LOVE THEM GET THEM TO AN ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS MEETING IT REALLY WORKS.
alcoholics anonymous helps them want to stop,they are surrounded by true friends that will come to their aid 24 hours a day.

Long story short. In school I was relentlessly bullied (went to a catholic all boys school), had no (and still have next to no) friends, socially inept towards women (and it has tortured me all my life), have completely no self esteem, have OCD and iam a speed junkie (which i started due to my ‘incapability of getting a girlfriend, or even dating, now is close to destroying me.
Started abusing speed and freebasing coke at 16 due to shot self esteem issues and having no one who would help me. Spent the next 4 years in isolation in front of a computer, trying to forget the fact that i couldnt have the life that I wanted to have which was just what other teenagers at the time were doing. So I hated (and still do) myself, and at 19, one of my only friends who i knew from preschool died of a heroin overdose.
Society writes me off as a junkie scumbag and I spend nearly have my time today doing volunteer work for homeless people. I dont “hate” anyone but everytime I see a couple happy together, all that fills my heart is bitterness and rage. Not personal, but then my mind makes preconceptions about them having a perfect life while I had seemingly been spat in the face for all of mine. I dont know what I can do to change it and at 22, I feel as though I’m already destined to be a failure and I look back on my life so far and can see only negatives, even if some of them are of my own doing.
God didnt help me when my best friend overdosed, god didnt help me when i tried to hang myself 6 years ago and all these problems happened at a christian high school where the teachers were aware of what was happening and yet couldnt care less. I find it difficult to accept ‘god’ when nothing but sadness enters my head when i think of him

look buddy,
i’m not a drug user, never have been and never will, so i can’t speak about that much. There are plenty of stories about people bullied in christian schools, i went to a catholic school most of my education, and i see that it does happen.
Is there something that was happening at that time of your life, apart from this, that was making u feel so bad….people usually ignore it and move on, and at least have their own group of people to hang around…i also had many thoughts of suicide at around 16, and did attempt, but got caught, can’t say much for god (maybe me being caught was something??)….but i do too often ask myself, if he is real, why isnt he helping me, we all do, but i do, like you, take it personally, why he lets things happen with the people we love and care about the most….nobody has an asnwer. but to get going in life, u need to create a shell for yourself, a hard shell that you can use to protect yourself with and from nasty people. Maybe you could start by seeking some support/counselling and get help for your drug taking, to do anything with yourself, u need to kick your habits, and i think you would be aware of that. just take one step at a time…..i know it seems hard, and it will be for a bit, but once u get that faith in yourself, you’ll realise thats your start to getting your life going.

I was reading a story there about a divorce that happend because of abusive behaviors related to drugs and alcohol. I decided to share my story in hopes of helping someone who may read it.

I understand he was in many top grossing films as a child star in the 80′s, like Friday the 13th sequels, The Goonies, Gremlins, Stand By Me, The Lost Boys, The Burbs and several other comedies and movies that went right to video, but have you seen the new TV series called, “The Two Corey’s” Corey Haim is broke, unemployed and portrayed as a washed up ex-junkie loser, and he is staying at Corey Feldman’s beautiful mansion, and by the way, Feldman has a smokin’ hot wife with a great rack, are they real? How the hell has the guy been able to hold onto so much money? He was a heavy coke and heroin user in the late 80′s early 90′s, you would think he would’ve blown through the maybe 100 grand he got per film back then. Would he still be getting royalties off dvd sales of those 80′s films? I just don’t get it how he is living so large, but if you go to www.imdb.com and look at the movies he’s been in the past 15 years, they are all B movies, straight to video stuff, baffling
That’s a good point by the second poster, I have thought of that, perhaps you’re right, he could easily be living on Michael Jackson hush hush money, maybe 10 million, they were buddies in the 90′s
Oh, I just read that article, thanks for the link. I didn’t realize this show was filmed in Vancouver, BC and that really isn’t Feldman’s house. What a fraud. I’m not watching anymore. What a lie, and a crock of shit.
