How common is drug ADDICTION amongst teenagers?

Question by When Will This Recession End: How common is drug ADDICTION amongst teenagers?
How do you tell the difference between a teen who uses marijuana recreationally versus one who is chemically addicted? Drug use is so rampant amongst teens now and weed, as I understand it, is more potent than it ever has been before. How do you go about getting help for a teenager who is addicted to pot, what is involved in that rehabilitation?

10 points for the answer with the most information, thanks.

There’s no such thing as an addiction to marijuana. It just doesn’t happen, and even if it did, the only problem it’s causing is a waste of money. Marijuana is not harmful to your health, and it definitely is not addictive.
Oh, and if you’re going to say that it causes cancer. Well, yesterday I read an article in the newspaper about how shampoo and make-up cause cancer. What doesn’t cause cancer these days?

Common Flu Symptoms and How to Manage Them

Before we talk about flu symptoms and how to manage them, lets first look at the difference between colds and flu. Common cold symptoms may include one or more of the following symptoms:

  • nose discharge
  • stuffed up feeling
  • cough
  • sore throat
  • headache

With flu, you may experience any or all of the above symptoms, but you’ll also have:

  • a fever or chills
  • body aches or pains
  • and possibly gastrointestinal disturbances

You can see straight away, by the symptoms, that flu is more serious than a cold. You wouldn’t get a fever unless your body was responding to something that wants to greatly disturb it.

A fever in itself is a good thing. It means your body is dealing effectively with throwing out the pathogen that is trying to gain entry. The more violent the fever, the more healthy you are. The milder the fever, the weaker you are – your body just doesn’t have the energy to fight.

Imagine someone trying to break in to your house. If you are prepared and indignant, chances are you’ll put up a powerful fight and win. If you are unprepared and feel vulnerable, chances are you’ll not fight at all and the burglar will probably get away with what he came for, possibly hurting you in the process.

Preparing your body for pathogen invasions means allowing things to take their course. Children are not born with an immune system. They need to practice by catching mild diseases.

Do you remember the chicken pox (and other childhood diseases) parties where people would bring their child to catch it? That’s what it was all about.

Today, in the vaccine laden world, this concept is no longer fashionable. But it is the best way for children’s immune system to become strong.

By experience.

Let them catch colds. Let them develop flu symptoms. Just keep an eye on things and be prepared to seek professional advice if you think it’s necessary.

A few days in bed may be all that is necessary. And when a child has recovered from an illness, without any suppressive drugs, you can often see a growth spurt. They needed that experience to evolve.

And they’ll become healthier adults, as a result.

Back to flu symptoms.

So you have a fever.

But you’ll also likely to have body aches. This can take the form of muscle aches or bone aches. Only you can feel the difference.

In addition to a fever and body aches, you may also have gastrointestinal symptoms. Perhaps in the form of nausea or vomiting or diarrhoea.

Digestion takes a huge amount of energy, so when you are very unwell, you will not feel hungry. This is because the energy it takes to digest is needed elsewhere.

The old saying of ‘starve a fever’ is very sound advice. Never try to force feed anyone who is acutely ill.

But continue to drink plenty.

Seek professional advice if it continues more than a couple of days without showing signs of improvement.

Homeopathic medicines work with the body, rather than suppressing its symptoms. This means you can effectively deal with your flu symptoms with a specific homeopathic medicine for your type of flu. This will speed up the process, without causing damage.

Debt Relief – Common Sense is Your Biggest Asset in Your Battle Against Debt

The tendency of people to rely on experts in financial matters has not changed. There is nothing wrong in listening to the experts per se. However, one must keep in mind that experts and the financial results were the ones who swamped the economy. Mindless creation of financial securities and transfer of risk to enable lenders to take unreasonable risks are the primary reason why the recession has become a global one. This is one reason why it is hurting our economy so badly. In the hindsight, the tactics used by experts seem to be devoid of common sense.

Hence, do not make the same mistake that you did in the past and rely on the word of the expert when it comes to debt relief. This is not to say that debt relief must be based on common sense alone. The technical aspects have to be explained by the experts. However, make it a point to compare, verify or check at all times. Do not be in a hurry to presume that advice given my expert must always be right. Make use of the World Wide Web to get in touch with large number of individuals facing the same problem as you are.

Find out what are they are doing to seek relief from debt. Tell them what you have been advised and find out what they have to say about it. The idea of verifying the words of an expert with uninformed and unqualified masses may seem odd. However, the person who is facing the problem of excessive debt and those who have reduced their debts successfully in the past will definitely be in a position to help you out.

The best part with relying on the web for debt relief advice is that you need not commit yourself. You may not be in a position to question an expert when you are in a personal discussion. However, you can always question the advice or tip suggested by even the highest financial authority in the country as long as you are doing it in privacy and anonymity of the World Wide Web.

If you are over $10,000 in unsecured debt it would be wise to utilize a debt relief network instead of going directly to a debt settlement company. Using a debt relief network guarantees that the debt settlement company you choose has been certified and has established success in negotiating settlements. They are free to use and a good starting point to begin your debt relief process.

What Are the Most Common Effects of Ketamine Abuse

People, who deal with panic attacks, anxiety problems or other psychological disorders, take often medication to deal effectively with their condition. One of the most known and commonly used drugs is Ketamine, which was developed and introduced in the 60s. The constant and long term use of this drug can cause addiction or other side effects. Let’s see what the most common Ketamine effects to people are:

Ketamine is a mild drug when used in low doses but it can become extremely dangerous in higher doses. It can cause paralysis or psychedelic disorders, therefore many professionals think that Ketamine effects are quite similar to those produced by hard drugs such as heroin or cocaine. The effects are quite rapid, kicking in within ten, or even less, minutes. Ketamine abuse can cause hallucinations and dazzling insights. According to experts, some people start talking to fantastic creatures and lose their connection with their consciousness.

Among the known Ketamine effects is also tachycardia, diplopia or nystagmus, nausea, vomiting, or anaphylaxis. Rashes and pain located at joints and muscles might be observed in cases of Ketamine abuse or to those who get addicted to the substance. Usually, the patient’s blood pressure rises suddenly and can cause arrhythmia and shortness of breath, or even severe headaches. In some cases apnia and laryngospasms are associated with consumption of Ketamine.

If you notice any of those symptoms to someone you should call a doctor right away; in some cases the effects might be even lethal, however in the majority of cases they cause traumatic stress and fear to the patient who doesn’t seem to be aware of what is happening, but in fact suffers a lot. Although Ketamine has been a very known and useful drug it should be administrated by a professional so as to avoid Ketamine abuse and similar conditions.
