Q&A: what are my rights as the defendant in a sibling protection order during family reunion?
Feb 10th
Question by Vicki S: what are my rights as the defendant in a sibling protection order during family reunion?
My sister initiated an argument, then accused me of threatening to kill her 3 times. It was all done purely out of jealousy, after I brought to her attention that I was aware that her husband is an alcoholic, while having many affairs and even raping a woman. I was originally charged with felony harassment, threat to kill, but my charges were dropped to disorderly conduct. She was granted a 2 year protection order against me and we have a family reunion this weekend. What are my rights? Will it be a violation of the order if I attend the reunion? How do I handle the situation? Your very quick response will be greatly appeciated.
P.S. We live in a very small town, and I have changed my sexual preferences and am now with the only afro-american in the whole town. I am also the youngest of 5 children, the oldest being 70 and me being 45. My dad is also claiming that I am an illigitimate child, which I only became aware of on December 23rd, 2005
PLEASE HELP ME!! I NEED ANSWERS.

Q&A: Can structural damage to the developing brain, due to binge drinking during adolescence be reversed?
Aug 28th
Question by xninjatunax: Can structural damage to the developing brain, due to binge drinking during adolescence be reversed?
Can structural damage to the developing brain, due to binge drinking during adolescence be reversed by abstinence in adulthood? (completely quitting drinking from 20 years old onwards?) Also, does the damage caused actually limit the persons ability to learn and store new memories permanently or, with abstinence, does the brain compensate by forging new neural pathways etc?

Ok, after reading up on this the only studies available seem to be on adolescent rats because of ethical reasons etc.
There are articles all over the internet raving about the extremely dangerous effects of binge drinking on the adolescent brain but can these results taken from studies on rats really give an understanding of binge drinking on the human adolescent? If the human brain is more complex than mabye new neural pathways will appear to compensate for lost nerve cells?
p.s. Sorry about that last part not really making sense and repeating what I’ve already said…Maybe the damage is permanent!

How to Prepare For a Drive During Blizzard?
Jan 6th
While the best option is to stay indoors during a blizzard but circumstances may be such that driving out could be unavoidable. Even in the worst case scenario, avoid driving out at night. If possible, wait till day break to venture out.
Be prepared for the fact that you may have to drive through rough winds at 35 mph carrying large quantities of snow. Then again the blizzard may continue for several hours. So in your interest and safety, take some precautions before and during your drive through the inclement weather.
Before venturing out:
- Check your car tires thoroughly to ensure they have adequate tread. Also make sure that your vehicle is an all wheel drive.
- Check the brakes, wiper blades, battery and exhaust system carefully. They must be in good working condition. Replace the wiper blades if they are worn out.
- Fill washer reservoir with anti-freeze solution.
- Keep a windshield scrapper.
- Check with the state highway patrol about the driving conditions on the road.
- Keep your winter car kit in order. This means that you should have flashlights, extra batteries, bottled water, medicines, warm clothes, shovel and bright red colored cloth to be used as a flag in case of emergency.
When you are out:
- Try not to drive alone. If possible, take someone with you.
- Remember to carry your cell phone and make sure it is fully charged and is working properly.
- Inform your family and friends about your schedule and remain in touch with them as you drive along so that they have a fair idea of where you are at a point of time.
- Use road maps to assess the direction and distance you are traveling before you drive out of the house.
- Stay on the main roads. Be extra careful if the snowfall is heavy because you may find it difficult to read the road signs.
- Keep your headlights on all through the drive. Remember that your visibility and distance may be affected due to distortion during the snowfall.
- Keep the wipers running all through the drive and manually remove the snow from the windshield if necessary.
- Slow down on the bridges and overpasses as the cold wind creates snow more quickly on the bridge than on the roads.
- Keep sufficient distance from the car driving ahead of you.
- Avoid spinning your wheels if your car is bogged down in snow. Remove the snow from the tires with your hands and spread some sand under the wheels to apply traction.
Going Through Drug Test During Service
Jan 3rd
As we all know the impact of drug addiction throughout the world. It is one of the biggest problems of the modern society. Though there is no particular age group to get addicted to drugs but the most alarming fact is that the effects of drug addiction these days are considerably noticed in the younger generation. As it is known to all the younger generation is the backbone of the society and therefore the addiction to drugs makes this backbone weak and there is always the threat of the a severe crush down all the time as long as the society is threatened with the threat of drug addiction.
Moreover, these days several steps are taken to put a check on the evil effects of the drug addiction. And one of its effects is already being in the frequency of the drug testing campaigns organized by several employers at the work place to keep a check on the usage of drugs among their employees. These days the employers as well as the government both are seriously concerned about the ill effects of the drug addiction and the result is the conducting of drug test at the workplace.
It is a common fact these days that when you appear for an interview to seek a job you may be asked to go through a drug test so that your employer can make it sure that you are not under the influence of any sort of drug addiction. Though this is not a compulsory thing for you but the fact is that you shall have to go through the test when you are asked to. And as the company cannot for a drug test on you but in reality if you disagree with your employers it is very much certain that you will not get the job. Moreover, not only at the time of joining the company but also you may also go through these drug tests any time during your service time. This is for the security in case you get addicted to drugs after joining the company.
However, there are several methods of conducting a drug test. As for example the most common method of conducting a drug test is the urine test. In case of a urine test the urine samples are collected from the candidates and are either tested with a panel kit or is sent to the laboratory for a detailed analysis. The reason for the popularity of the urine test is that it is quite chipper than other tests. The urine test can be conducted much easily than any other tests and the accuracy is trustworthy. This is also a good reason why the employers in the most common cases prefer the urine test than any other test. However, other than the urine test there are several other methods of conducting a drug test like the saliva test, hair and hair follicle test and others. But among these the urine test is the most preferred one for most of the employers.
Personal Salvation During the Coming Economic Chaos – Part II
Jan 3rd
In Part 1 I discussed the destructiveness of social altruism and the pitfalls of personal altruism. Irrational selfishness ties in with altruism because altruists need irrationally selfish people. Often they go hand in handaE”attempting to achieve the same illogical goals. Other times it is the self-destructive actions of the irrationally selfish that give altruists, do-gooders, world improvers and politicians something to moralize aboutaE”and unfortunately something to campaign against.
One example was prohibition. Some people destroy themselves with excessive alcohol consumption. This is a personal problem that mainly affects the individual and those close to him. The lush, alcoholic or whatever you want to call him is indulging in irrational selfishness. The altruist sees this as a social problem and begins a campaign against the sale and use of alcohol. The next thing you know laws are passed forbidding the sale of alcohol in a futile attempt to discourage its use.
I don’t have to go into all the gory details about the unfortunate consequences of prohibition. Some of these were dangerous bathtub gin, blatant disregard of the law, the rise of organized crime and a decade of the twenties called “the roaring twenties.” The prohibition amendment was finally repealed.
What is amazing is that the same economic laws that doomed prohibition also spell the doom of the drug war. Government has absolutely no chance of winning it. By now you should know that this doesn’t deter government or its representatives (politicians). They have been attacking economic law since the beginning of timeaE”and have intensified their attacks against all logic and reason. That is why we are now witnessing an economic crisis.
Just as you must shun the anti-life philosophy of altruismaE”you must rid all irrational selfishness from life. It is also critical that you avoid the company of the irrationally selfish whenever possible.
Irrational Selfishness aE” Others
You have probably heard the old saying about “keeping good company”. Often old-fashion wisdom is applicable to the trials and tribulations of modern times. Irrationally selfish individuals may tell you that these are modern times and the “old ways” are no longer applicable. This is pure hogwash. The laws of human action have been valid since the beginning of timeaE”and will remain valid through eternity. As long as there are beings with the logical structure of mind that humans possessaE”the laws of human action are trueaE”and can guide the actions of men and women.
Irrationally selfish people indulge in self-destructive behavior. Hanging around these kinds of individuals could very well result in you adopting their ways of acting.
These types of people sacrifice long-term benefits for immediate gratification. They over-eat, shun exercise, drink too much, indulge in dangerous drugs, spend most of their money on unnecessary consumption items, etc. They also indulge in the negative emotions of anger, hate, jealousy, envy and guilt. They have low self-esteem and self-worth because their lives are out of control. Are these the people you want to associate with?
As mentioned earlier altruists need these types of people. Irrationally selfish people are the first ones to line up at the banquet of government benefits and handouts. Obviously since they indulge in self-destructive behavioraE”and lack self-control and self-sufficiency they come to depend on the “nanny’ state for their very survival. What they consider their personal salvation is poison to youaE”your beverage of hemlock. Is it any wonder we are rushing head-on into economic chaos?
Personal Irrational Selfishness
Can you afford to indulge in irrational selfishness during the chaos of economic disaster? I think it is obvious that the answer is a resounding NO. Indulging in irrational behavior will only cause you miseryaE”and eventually accelerate your demise. Many people resort to alcohol and drugs during bad times out of sheer despair. They watch too much television or spend money they don’t have on entertainment. They will do anything to escape their pain and sufferingaE”not realizing they are only increasing it in the not too distant future.
I expect you to live a life of joy and ecstasy. It is your perfect right to enjoy Libertarian Pleasures. The irrationally selfish individual has neither joy nor ecstasy in his lifeaE”and his enjoyment of Libertarian Pleasures is greatly diminished. There will be no personal salvation for this person.
In Part 3 I will reveal what type of person will survive and thrive during the coming economic chaos.
