Question by Farooq: Why does Egypt have such a low drug addiction rate compared to the USA?
Since drug addiction is so often attributed to poverty and lack of social services why do many poor populaces like in Egypt, Iraq, and China not suffer from the same degree as inner-city regions in the USA or Russia?

They don’t. Their addictions are under-reported due to a lack of services and widespread intimidation directed against drug addicts.
