I’ve recently moved out of my massive semi detached house in this lovely rich leafy suburb/area of Manchester because I couldn’t afford to live there and I have traded it with a house in Birmingham as Birmingham was a lot lot cheaper got to Birmingham/Brum and the house is some terraced house, a inner city street of rows of terraced houses boarded up litter on street ethnic black/asians gangs of youths hanging on streets and drug dealing going on in the park at the back of my house so many needles and syringes scattered around there on a daily and weekly basis and I have to go there to catch the bus to go to work in the Edgbaston area of Birmingham and I cant afford to move but I hate it here seriously is there any other places I can live anyone able to give me some help and infomation thank you.

Felix Hoffmann, of Bayer in Elberfeld, Germany created heroin as a medicine 11 days after inventing aspirin. Afraid of the possible side effects of aspirin, Bayer registered heroin (probably from heroisch, German for heroic, chosen because in field studies people using the medicine felt “heroic”) as a trademark.
As far as why addicts are called junkies…Webster’s definition of the word is: a person who derives inordinate pleasure from or who is dependant on something

Since religion is given to people to keep them law abiding why not give heroin to junkies for the same reason?

Junkies are notorious for turning to illegal activities to support their addiction to heroin. There’s actually a trial going in Sweden (or Switzerland?) now where junkies referred by a doctor are given their daily or weekly dose of heroin and apparently the petty crime and prostitution rates have noticeably dropped since the trial began. Do you think this is a moral issue? Can you see the US ever adopting a similar strategy, to allow people to live in a drug induced haze for the rest of their lives in order to keep them law abiding? And when you think about it, how is this that different from using religion to achieve the same result?

Just saw info on TV – Switzerland saw a 10% drop in crime when they decided to make heroin free.
In UK, 8 out of 10 burglaries are caused by junkies.
I think the drug, evil as it is, should be made free. Prohibition never worked and the crime still continues.
