Why do so many people hate Pete Doherty?

Question by Craig: Why do so many people hate Pete Doherty?
He’s never actually harmed anyone (except a few papparazi), he never glorifies the use of drugs and he is constantly trying to give them up. It’s not like he’s the first ever rockstar with a drug problem. You could say he influences teenagers to take drugs, but any fan of his can see that both his music and personal life has suffered since his heroin problems worsened, so if anything Pete fans are more determined NOT to do drugs. You may not like his music and say he has no talent, but many people (including me) strongly disagree with this, and as music is all a matter of opinion, surely no one can claim that anyone within reason has no talent, he just might not suit your tastes. Try to give answers that aren’t just ‘He’s a junkie’ please.

because he has no respect for the life he has… people die everyday of cancer, accidents, etc… and he’s just throwing his life away. Too bad he cant trade it with someone who wants to live.

What about these people? Is there any hope?

Question by Tommy Thompson: What about these people? Is there any hope?
I feel very strongly about about a biased view that people have that certain things cannot change. Please hear me out on this. I may cause a little stir but I cannot stand hearing things like this.

EXAMPLE: A man is sexually abused and beaten as a young boy for many years by family members. Lives in poverty. He has to cook his own meals, do his own laundry, and basically care for himself. He is sexually abused by other family members as he gets older. His father is an alcoholic. He starts to think the only way to get attention is through sexual contact with others. So he grows up thinking that he must have sex with other boys. This continues into adulthood and he ends up molesting and abusing boys just as he was.

Many people are quick to say this person must be locked up and thrown away forever. I have a sensitive place in my heart for people such as this and want to provide help for them to rehabilitate their lives. What they did as an adult is wrong but I believe they can chan

being gay and this is totally different. I’m bisexual and have no desire to molest children. Homosexuality and sexual abuse of children are not the same thing.
The therapy that is used for treatment, does this include any religious or faith based therapy? If not, could that be part of why it is not successful?
Chantal – thanks.
I Speak Truth – thanks
Thank you so much for your answer God is Love….this story in Matthew is a great example of what I’m talking about.
repent – I didn’t say that no gays abuse children, just don’t associate homosexuality with child abuse. There are many heterosexuals that abuse children sexually also. This isn’t about adult sexual preference, it is about a condition and problem of emotional and psychological trauma to both adults and children. It isn’t about heterosexuality vs. homosexuality.
rebel rouser-good question. I quess I made it that way because when I was a kid I was abused by a male so that was the first thing that came to my mind. In the media I hear mostly about men abusing boys more than anything else. I guess that is what sells. I know there is a lot more than that going on but that is just what I hear the most.

I’d feel sorry and pity for them, but even so, I think they should get help. Not being locked up and thrown away into non-existance. Thats cruel and inhumane.

Be thankful you exist!

Why are people who smoke Marijuana treated so strictly by society in some States. (Please read)?

Question by Andrew Smith: Why are people who smoke Marijuana treated so strictly by society in some States. (Please read)?
I’v noticed that the in some U.S. States, people who smoke marijuana are treated like they are a junkie or a bad guy, they are kind of looked down upon and some will say “you need to go to rehab, you have a drug problem” when they get caught smoking a single joint. I’m from Canada, and here Marijuana is very contraversional but even those who are highly against it, don’t look down upon the poeple who smoke it like they are a junkie. My dad was a cop and he was againts marijuana use, he thought marijuana use was wrong BUT he would never look down at someone like they were a junkie if they smoked pot. I mean, it’s not like crack-cocaine or heroin. People who use those drugs are junkies but not pot users. In some States, if you smoke pot in high school, you could be in a lot of trouble and they will guilt you so much you would think pot is the Devil’s drug, but here in Canada, if you smoke pot at school, they would send you home at worst. It’s frowned upon, but the teaches don;t think you have a drug problem if your caught with a joint, maybe if you were caught with a gram of cocaine they would think you have a drug problem, but not over pot.

I just want to know why???

Best answer:

Answer by Nom Nom Nom
They believe the propaganda and most people seem to fall in to 2 categories:

1. Marijuana is as “dangerous” as crack and all users are horrific addicts.
2. Marijuana is “Just an Herb” and has no dangers what so ever and is 100% non-addictive.

Both sides are horribly wrong.

I don’t smoke weed anymore and haven’t in many years because it now triggers anxiety attacks but I see marijuana as it is, a psychoactive chemical that, with heavy use, causes a degrade in mental capabilities and is addictive to a very small number of people.

It i far less harmful than alcohol and should be treated as the drug it is, with respect and not something to be used all the time.

Is the government’s drive to cut binge drinking among young people being undermined by the alcohol industry?

Question by .yEAh.: Is the government’s drive to cut binge drinking among young people being undermined by the alcohol industry?
The alcohol industry continue to advertise their products and young people are being hooked into their adverts, for example, the WKD adverts, “Have You Got A WKD Side?”

Best answer:

Answer by The unborn
Its not the alcohol industry.
It s the government them selves.
They make heaps of money from exise tax on alcohol but they do not want to be seen to be profitereing from social probs so they do some crummy anti alcohol campain to brain wash us into thinking they are trying to do the right thing.

How can we make binge drinking uncool with young people?

Question by Dario W: How can we make binge drinking uncool with young people?
It is a phenomenol problem, but for every problem there is a solution. What can be done to stop or curb this nefarious activity with our impressionable youth?
Jilly Cooper – grow up, will you?! You’ll be sorry one day if you get cirrhosis of the liver. Being young does not give you the right to be irresponsible.

Best answer:

Answer by Kay
You can’t legislate stupidity. In other words, you can’t make rules that say you can’t be stupid. Many young people go out of their way to break society’s rules. It’s called expressing their freedom. Experiencing a tragedy brought on by binge drinking such as watching a friend die doesn’t always teach the lesson.

If you learn how to do it, publish a book. It will be a best seller.
