Q&A: I’m at my breaking point, please help.?
Dec 8th
Question by Travis Martin: I’m at my breaking point, please help.?
First of all I am a healthy “physically” and in-shape 21 year old guy… now that that’s out of the way I’ll continue
I hate my life, I am so sick of everything, the only people I even care about are my close family and I don’t have any friends at all. I am literally finished, I really don’t want to talk about it but I’ll try.
Basically it STARTED with a haircut, I have been growing my hear out for over a year and it was in excellent condition but I had to cut it due to an interview, I heavily regret it and so does my family, the reason I cut it was because I am in a government program for schooling and they forced me.
The next reason is because my life is horrible, I’m always sad and full of regret. I am having such a hard time typing this and I’;m crying. I literally just want to die right now, I have never been in a relationship and most people think I’m weird. I’m very emotional on the inside but seem cold on the outside and people don’t understand, I have been taking therapy for over a year now since my liver failed from an overdose in 2010 and it’s not helping.
I know it is about perception but I don’t have a job and have been fired 3 times already in my life, I have abused drugs like a junkie and used to take double the amount as normal for heroin which was my drug of choice. I bought the heroin with money from my grandfather that he left me in his will now I am broke and my internal organs are shot and even excersize won’t help that.
I feel like the world has passed me by, I miss high school and my friends from back then. I want to go back in time so bad that it’s scary, I am so shot these days.
I abuse alcohol and chain smoke, I don’t even smoke regularly and will only smoke when I can smoke at least 6 cigarettes in one sitting and I abuse tequila and cheap beer regularly despite the fact that my liver is shot and it can hurt.
I have a few triggers and when they go off I get even more self destructive, as you have seen haircuts are one and no matter how much councilling I do it will not go away, Another are the names Megan and Lynn which were 2 girls that I had slept with in the past and felt something for but it never went anywhere. Another is alcohol, when I see another person drink be it at a party or not I will drink in excess “I only weigh 155″ and will binge drink until I vomit and then drink after that but I can’t ever get drunk enough to instantly balck out no matter what sadly.
Okay I am done I can’t take anymore, please give me a reason to live based on what I had typed above.

Why are people who smoke Marijuana treated so strictly by society in some States. (Please read)?

Question by Andrew Smith: Why are people who smoke Marijuana treated so strictly by society in some States. (Please read)?
I’v noticed that the in some U.S. States, people who smoke marijuana are treated like they are a junkie or a bad guy, they are kind of looked down upon and some will say “you need to go to rehab, you have a drug problem” when they get caught smoking a single joint. I’m from Canada, and here Marijuana is very contraversional but even those who are highly against it, don’t look down upon the poeple who smoke it like they are a junkie. My dad was a cop and he was againts marijuana use, he thought marijuana use was wrong BUT he would never look down at someone like they were a junkie if they smoked pot. I mean, it’s not like crack-cocaine or heroin. People who use those drugs are junkies but not pot users. In some States, if you smoke pot in high school, you could be in a lot of trouble and they will guilt you so much you would think pot is the Devil’s drug, but here in Canada, if you smoke pot at school, they would send you home at worst. It’s frowned upon, but the teaches don;t think you have a drug problem if your caught with a joint, maybe if you were caught with a gram of cocaine they would think you have a drug problem, but not over pot.
I just want to know why???

They believe the propaganda and most people seem to fall in to 2 categories:
1. Marijuana is as “dangerous” as crack and all users are horrific addicts.
2. Marijuana is “Just an Herb” and has no dangers what so ever and is 100% non-addictive.
Both sides are horribly wrong.
I don’t smoke weed anymore and haven’t in many years because it now triggers anxiety attacks but I see marijuana as it is, a psychoactive chemical that, with heavy use, causes a degrade in mental capabilities and is addictive to a very small number of people.
It i far less harmful than alcohol and should be treated as the drug it is, with respect and not something to be used all the time.

I have a question about funerals. Please answer.?
Nov 4th
Question by I like you but you’re crazy: I have a question about funerals. Please answer.?
I’ll give you a quick rundown so you don’t think I am a total d*ck for asking this. My dad is an alcoholic who constantly lies about drinking and uses people to get what he needs. Over the years he has really made a bad name for himself with the family. I have tried everything I can to help him get better, rehabs, doctor visits, even helped him find a place to live with some really nice people(he is only 53 btw). Now his health is falling apart just had a pace maker put in and his gal bladder removed. They have told him he will die soon if he continues drinking. He wont stop drinking so I am afraid for the worst but I dont have money for a funeral. What do I do?

Does he not have insurance, a pension, any sort of money put into anything?
Failing that, you have him cremated. No need to have a funeral. You can have a memorial service instead.

please help me figure out these weird dreams?
Nov 3rd
Question by Andi: please help me figure out these weird dreams?
ok i’m usually pretty good at analyzing my dreams but i’m a little lost with these. unfortunately it is a bit long
it’s a bit fuzzy now but from what i remember in my dream everybody was a little kid (not sure of age exactly) including me. at first it felt like i was watching from a distance and somehow me and another kid started some kind of game where he was trying to kill me. he came at me with all sorts of weapons, mostly knives. he chased me through a bunch of places, ending up at a school. i was running around different kinds of stairs and hallways and other people in the kids path ended up dying. when he got to me i was more involved in the dream (instead of feelign far away i was right there feeling the fear as i was running). the kid came at me with a chainsaw and i had a knife. this part of the dream felt most realistic….i got his chainsaw out of the way somehow and stabbed him in the stomach with my knife. then i slit his throat and it was really creepy because all of this was kind of slow motion and it felt so real. he died and that’s when i found out that all of us (i’m not really sure who us is except for just a bunch of little kids) could not die. every time we were killed we came back to life. and that’s when the game could start again.
i woke up so creeped out. i don’t understand this dream at all.
a little bit of background if it helps….. i hate kids(i know it’s hard for ppl to understand but kids just bother me and generally creep me out) and i have been a bit stressed lately. i’ve been looking for a job and am going to start school very soon after taking a couple of years off.
after going back to sleep i had another dream where i was back together with my ex because me and my current boyfriend had a fight. i was in his house and was worried that he was going to do heroin again (my ex was a junkie) so i went upstairs and found him with a needle. i tried to get it away from him and he just laughed at me and jammed the needle into his forehead. after that i waited for my current boyfriend to come rescue me. i can’t remember anything else…..
some background for that….. i hooked up with my current boyfriend about 2 years ago while i was living with him, my ex and a couple of other roommates. my ex was a junkie and we had a lot of problems. my boyfriend basically rescued me from the crappy life i was living. recently we have been fighting a lot and i’m wondering if this dream could have something to do with that.
if you could help that would be great!
thanx!
=)
no, i don’t do drugs.
i always have really weird and creepy dreams and i have trouble sleeping because of them. figuring them out makes me feel a little bit better.

Question by HONEY: Do you think we can eventually work it out? Its not long. please need help!?
We just broke up after 2.5 yrs a month ago and im a mess.. the begining was very rough, he always thought i was up to something or cheating on him. It took a toll on me. Him being so insecure but i was determined to make it work. I had to get serious and break up with him bc i couldnt take it anymore, we got back together a week later and got thru it! Fast foward 2 years..
I just turned 25.. so ive been getting the itch to move foward, i pressured him and STESSEd him out and was MEAN, so mean to him bc he wasnt getting hhis stuff together quick enough for me. I wanted to move in and he wasnt ready and i pressured him sooo much, for a minute there i forgot about the love
and broke up with him. When i SHOULD of stood by him, and told him positive things instead of negative things. Hes been thru enough in his life and didnt need me, the one he loves so much, bringing him down.. Ive tried to get him back but he wont. He said he loves me so much but needs to work on himself and be by himself, and find himself and love himself bc for a really long time he hasnt done that. Just 3 months before he got together with me him and his Ex broke up, it was nasty, she cheated on him, and it was a bad break up.
Hes 22
He doesnt have much self worth.
Hes insecure
Not confident.
Grew up with both alcoholic parents
Hes very humble and a great guy.
I need to give him his space and time dont i? Ugh this sucks. Well i just want some advice, and things to do to help him so if we do get back together. I can be everything he needs me to be. I love him soo much
Someone mentioned going to do community service and help people so he can see others with tough lives also, and even tougher.
Also mentioned him playing on a sports team. He does that and absolutely LOVES it. It makes him sooo happy.
I love him to death. Please, need advice.

The law cannot stop alcoholism, period. If you banned alcohol, you’d find people setting up stills and selling moonshine.

What is your attitude towards binge drinking – agree/disagree with statements. Please read addition info.?

Question by emmalove101: What is your attitude towards binge drinking – agree/disagree with statements. Please read addition info.?
For my sociology coursework I am trying to prove that different ages hold different attitudes towards binge drinking, this is not the actual study but background research, it would be really appreciated if you could take the time to fill this in.
Age:
There is nothing wrong with people participating in one off binge drinking (consuming half the recommended weekly units in one session) at the weekend – Agree/Disagree?
There is nothing wrong with people my age participaiting in binge drinking – Agree/Disagree?

Answer by bobsee8
Age is the most important factor in binge drinking. When you are below the legal drinking age it is an adventure to see if you can do something you are not supposed to and get away with it. When you are of legal age it is more or less a peer pressure contest as to who can drink the most or get the drunkest. Some look for attention and get hammered for an excuse to get away with something stupid they did while under the influence so they have a good excuse for doing it. When you are older, drinking is kind of like sex. It no longer depends on quantity as much as quality. This is the point it turns from binge drinking to social drinking. And you no longer have excuses for strange behavior like wearing a lampshade on ones head. I guess its a process of maturing. Since everyone is different, I suppose rights and wrongs are best determined by each individual.

My fiancee is an alcoholic, please help me?
Aug 4th
Question by W_vs_D: My fiancee is an alcoholic, please help me?
Just a quick brief…
We were best friends first. I was due to move to NZ for a job for 2 years, when we both realised we couldn’t live without each other. One night when he was sober, he broke down in the middle of the pub and said he did not want me to go, he wanted me to be a permenant part of his life, and he not only loved me as his friend, he was in love with me. Now this man does not cry!! Ever!
It was too late to cancel my move, so I went ahead and we did long distance for a year with only one 2 week holiday, and our relationship easily survived.
When I got back I moved straight into his place, I couldn’t imagine anything else. We practically lived together before anyway.
I noticed he was drinking a lot more than the usual fri sat sessions, but thought it was summer, I was back, and there were 2 other guys living with us aswell. But it didn’t slow down. I eventually convinced him to slow down to a 6 pack a night. I guess I was so blinded by the joy of being back I didn’t see the real problem. We finally moved into our own place. He started once again the episodes of getting paralyzing drunk almost every night. I talked to him so many times but it was up to him to realise how much he was hurting me. So once again he slowed down a little bit. Getting really drunk maybe 3 times a week the rest of the time a 6 pack a night.
Now the thing is, we live in Australia, in a different state to all of our family. We recently went and visited his family, and he got drunk every night with his brother, but the family didn’t care, because we were on holiday. The thing was it was normal for everyday.
Now we’re back home and he’s getting drunk every night again. It’s to the point it’s embarassing when we’re out, and I shouldn’t be embarrassed. I have to half carry him into the car then home, and spend half an hour convincing him to come to bed. He eventually does, passes out sideways on the bed, and I have to totally undress him, put a pillow under his head the right way so he can breathe properly, set his alarm e.t.c.
I’m getting so sick of this routine it has gone on way too long.
He’s also a complete arse now when he’s drunk. He’s jealous, overprotective and can’t comprehend anything I say properly. He twists it out of proportion in his own mind.
I have tried talking to him again and again when he’s sober. But drunk people are unreasonable, and believe everything they say is right. Therefore in the morning, all he remembers is that he was right, and I scr

They don’t change when they’re married. Decide if you can handle the rest of your life this way. Are you afraid if you make him choose between you and alcohol that he won’t choose you. Take it from someone who’s Dad and two grandfathers were alcoholics. Marriage doesn’t work unless you’re both alcoholics and that’s not cool.

We should do nothing,If you chose to be an alcoholic (and you do chose no one made you start drinking except you) then that’s your God given right.Just like if I wanted to be a doctor that’s my choice and right.I think all drugs should be over the counter like they are in most other countries,Let the addicts fall where thay may.But no welfare for addicts. You can not right a law that will stop an addiction. If an addict choses to use thats their choice let them live with it.

Q&A: PLEASE HELP.. desperate?!?
May 31st
Question by Due 11/*20/*11
: PLEASE HELP.. desperate?!?
I will try to make this short.
I am 18 and he is 19.
HIM: he lives in the ghetto in Springfield Ohio, his family is ridden with crack heads, he lights up joints more than cigarettes, he got kicked out of high school, he has no car, his dad is a heroin junkie, his mom lives in Indiana, his whole family lives off his grandma in one dirty, cat-piss smelling house, who is crazy and sells pills, his friends make drugs and he helps them, he is covered In homemade tattoos, wears the same clothes everyday.. AND HAS NO JOB.
ME: Very involved student I’m high school, was a cheerleader and straight A student. I have a job at the best nursing home in the county as an aide. I went to college for nursing but just recently stopped college to work for a while and decide what I really want to do.. I plan on quitting though once I get bigger for safety reasons and my mother is offering to help me quit so I can go back to school or classes while I’m pregnant. I have a car that I pay insurance on. My father is U.S. Army retired and my mother is a dental assistant. We have a very nice home in a nice town, we all have not a thing to do with pot or drugs. I am responsible and already love my baby more than life.
QUESTION: Is there any way he could take the baby away from me? I don’t want to go to court but if he somehow manages to take it that far.. What will happen? I don’t even want JOINT custody!!! I don’t want my child ever exposed to that disgusting sh!thole EVER. What should I do? What will happen??
BUT will he have a chance at joint custody??
i asked for advice
