I’m a single mom of a 2 year old and I’m 8 months pregnant, I go to college part-time to be a paralegal, I have 6 months until graduation, my ex left me for another woman and he is not helping me monetary, I will place child support on him, I live with my mom and my step-father,my little brothers and older brother, I’m not paying rent yet because I don’t have no source of income, my mom helps me a lot she takes care of my daughter while I go to school, the problem is that my 25 year old brother who is an alcoholic, and smokes pot outside the house but once he comes inside he stinks the whole house I think this is bad for my child and my little brothers, is been 2 times that he has been verbally abusive towards me, yesterday he talked to me in a rude way, he is very disrespectful and quick temper, I told him that if he is going to be rude to me that is best for him not to talk to me at all, which is going to pain me since we live under the same roof, and my 7 year old brother is very rude also, has no discipline even though me and my mom we try to punish him, I think he is a bad influence for my 2 year old, I sleep with my daughter in the living room and is always so noisy that we have no privacy, I know I’m not paying rent yet but once I do I think I deserve some privacy, I have no other place to go how can I come up with a solution so I won’t be so miserable?

what does it mean when you meet a guy, and he claims he is crazy about you, and i do believe him, ( ive seen is ex gfs, im def more attracted plus he asked me to be his gf pretty quick) however even within a few weeks, hes still trying to hang out with recent girls hes slept with, and on the dating site we met on ( it sya swhen u logged in). he deleted it after i brought it u, but who knows what hs doing. im just confused bc cheating is supposed to happen when u become bored with the newness of the relationship and when the infatuation fades.. not in the beginning when u rstill crazy about the person! this guy is def DIFFERENT in many ways… hes so interesting to hang out with, yet he has not one guy friend.. well one, but the guy isnt to close to him, and hes somewhat “slow”. he has only girls ive seen him with, and i believe these girls are all girls hes been with ( on his fb page) or lked.. is so weird… im so confused.. plus when we were about to have sex he wanted to spank me.. not with his hand.. with a belt.. as hrd as h could… he likes control in the bedroom. another weird thing.. he never wants to touch me down there and has not gone down on me.. he just wants blowjobs, anal if id do it, or sex. what is going on with this guy? i know he has fam issues.. hs parents lived together for 20 years in seperate rooms, they were divorced a few years ago with his mom cheating.. she also was an alcoholic.. i mean but stilll.. we all have issues,, thas no exucse.. so now im pretty positive hes cheating also.. he lost his virginity two years ago and he went on sex rampages from dating sites. he just is so shady. but im so crazy about him. but also confused.. what does this sound lke? peple say possibl sociopath. but i didnt really explain that.. hes got all the signs if u know what a socipath is. another thing, hes 23 years old…. young..,. im 29… so i cant help but wonder if its his age.. hes DEF immatre and selfish.

He sounds like a sex addict they don’t care about your pleasure just theres that explains the bed room weirdness and all those girls could be people he slept with he could have lied about the amount because it would be easy for him how would you possible know he lied? it also explains the no guy friends sex addicts usually put it before anything even friends and family. It may seem a Little far fetched but you never know.

I’v noticed that the in some U.S. States, people who smoke marijuana are treated like they are a junkie or a bad guy, they are kind of looked down upon and some will say “you need to go to rehab, you have a drug problem” when they get caught smoking a single joint. I’m from Canada, and here Marijuana is very contraversional but even those who are highly against it, don’t look down upon the poeple who smoke it like they are a junkie. My dad was a cop and he was againts marijuana use, he thought marijuana use was wrong BUT he would never look down at someone like they were a junkie if they smoked pot. I mean, it’s not like crack-cocaine or heroin. People who use those drugs are junkies but not pot users. In some States, if you smoke pot in high school, you could be in a lot of trouble and they will guilt you so much you would think pot is the Devil’s drug, but here in Canada, if you smoke pot at school, they would send you home at worst. It’s frowned upon, but the teaches don;t think you have a drug problem if your caught with a joint, maybe if you were caught with a gram of cocaine they would think you have a drug problem, but not over pot.
I just want to know why???

They believe the propaganda and most people seem to fall in to 2 categories:
1. Marijuana is as “dangerous” as crack and all users are horrific addicts.
2. Marijuana is “Just an Herb” and has no dangers what so ever and is 100% non-addictive.
Both sides are horribly wrong.
I don’t smoke weed anymore and haven’t in many years because it now triggers anxiety attacks but I see marijuana as it is, a psychoactive chemical that, with heavy use, causes a degrade in mental capabilities and is addictive to a very small number of people.
It i far less harmful than alcohol and should be treated as the drug it is, with respect and not something to be used all the time.

The law cannot stop alcoholism, period. If you banned alcohol, you’d find people setting up stills and selling moonshine.

I have been on the contraceptive pill Yasmin and have found out that I have put on half a stone over the past 6 months! This may be due to me being with my boyfriend for this long and feeling ‘content’ with myself but now I have had enough and this New Year has made me want to lose the little belly I have gained! Haha. I am 9 stone 2/4 (it fluctates) and 5 ft 1 or 2 (I’m not really sure).
I am currently at 6th form and as a student I need ideas for food quick and easy and on the go which is also not going to make me fat! I also need some tips on alcoholic beverages that are not too high in calories, as I am a bit of a party animal and I’m sure drinking loads of malibu and coke probably hasn’t helped me with my figure. Haha.

What is a stone?
Birth control pills made me gain massive amounts of weight. Nothing worked to lose it, I had to get off the pills. Everyone is different, some women don’t gain a pound.

I’m writing a novel and one of the main characters is an alcoholic. He is in a mental hospital for this and his other disorders, and considering he is there he cannot have alcohol. What are some of the symptoms/signs of withdrawal that an alcoholic may have if in an environment where drinks are absolutely prohibited for them?

i,d consult web sites that deal with this. i know withdrawal is pretty nasty. just stopping coffee drinking can give you a headache.

We just broke up after 2.5 yrs a month ago and im a mess.. the begining was very rough, he always thought i was up to something or cheating on him. It took a toll on me. Him being so insecure but i was determined to make it work. I had to get serious and break up with him bc i couldnt take it anymore, we got back together a week later and got thru it! Fast foward 2 years..
I just turned 25.. so ive been getting the itch to move foward, i pressured him and STESSEd him out and was MEAN, so mean to him bc he wasnt getting hhis stuff together quick enough for me. I wanted to move in and he wasnt ready and i pressured him sooo much, for a minute there i forgot about the love and broke up with him. When i SHOULD of stood by him, and told him positive things instead of negative things. Hes been thru enough in his life and didnt need me, the one he loves so much, bringing him down.. Ive tried to get him back but he wont. He said he loves me so much but needs to work on himself and be by himself, and find himself and love himself bc for a really long time he hasnt done that. Just 3 months before he got together with me him and his Ex broke up, it was nasty, she cheated on him, and it was a bad break up.
Hes 22
He doesnt have much self worth.
Hes insecure
Not confident.
Grew up with both alcoholic parents
Hes very humble and a great guy.
I need to give him his space and time dont i? Ugh this sucks. Well i just want some advice, and things to do to help him so if we do get back together. I can be everything he needs me to be. I love him soo much
Someone mentioned going to do community service and help people so he can see others with tough lives also, and even tougher.
Also mentioned him playing on a sports team. He does that and absolutely LOVES it. It makes him sooo happy.
I love him to death. Please, need advice.

Don’t get me wrong. It saved my life. I was drinking a handle bottle of booze everyday and smoking heroin and shooting oxycontin. I was on a quick road to death. But, there are a few things that annoy the crap out of me in EVERY meeting I go to. The use of such words as ‘normie’ and ‘I’m a grateful alcoholic’ and ‘in these walls’ or ‘in these rooms’ and when the literature person tells the meeting that there is reading material they can pick up from the rack and the whole group says ‘nice rack’ like it is funny or something. Or when the secretary asks if anyone can help clean up after the meeting has concluded and a bunch of nimrods all yell out ‘that’s the secretary’s job.’ I can’t forget to mention how many people overuse the ‘this disease is so cunning, baffling, powerful.’ Last, but certainly not least, is when they close with the Lord’s prayer and the person says ‘who’s father?’ then the group starts the ‘Our Father who….’ Anyway, I’m just rambling on and on but I wish people didn’t have to be so stereotypical AA dorks. It gets so annoying. Have some originality and quit being a robot like everyone else.
I’ll end by saying, again, I like the program. It has worked wonders for me. But, there are so many meetings I will not step foot into anymore because of everything I mentioned above. It is just way too annoying & really shows what huge followers some of these people are. I’m hoping the few meetings that are free of the crap will not be infested by other AA members that enjoy being a robot so I can continue to stay sober.
If you go to AA and can answer my question as to why so many people say the same thing and can’t get an original thought in their head I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Youre new – and you can be as irritated with it as you want….(and trust me, everyone is irritated with it at first – however, as you gain more time, the ones who are intolerant of it stop going, and go back out – and things get worse)
Have you “worked” the steps yet? or are you just going to meetings and still suffering?
