The law cannot stop alcoholism, period. If you banned alcohol, you’d find people setting up stills and selling moonshine.

My wife picks the skin on her face all day long, some days she can have as many as 8 sore spots on her face (she covers them up with make-up). She says they are pimples, at first I thought she was right but after watching her for 3 yrs I know its not true. When I try to talk to her about it she says I should stop criticizing her and gets very defensive.
She also picks her forearms so much that she has actually developed a callus which looks like a corn and bleeds if she picks it too much. She treats all these “pimples” with acne creams every night, is it bad to put that on a wound and not a pimple. Trying to get her to stop is like trying to get a junkie off heroin. What should I do? Its getting so bad that I don’t like being in the same room with her. Its disgusting!
FYI…she’s not doing drugs, I just used that as an example. I’ve confronted her several times and she says accept me for who I am. She may be very lonely in the near future.

MY BROTHER IS A DRUG ADDICT HE DOES THIS AS WELL OBSSESSIVE COMPULSIVE she will need professional help and shes right if you confront her she will only do it more

she has a bad habit like biting her nails when she does it,my sister does it too,and picks her pinky toe nail completey off ,she is 37yrs,her face is a mess it may be nervers too.

She is an alcoholic, and she’s been calling my family slurring and and hiccuping and angry. But she denies that she has even had a drop to drink. We are really convinced she’s that she is drinking. My brother is away for 6 weeks, and we feel responsible to make sure that she does not harm the baby. Could use some brainstorming on how to handle the situation.

The only real way I can think of is to invite to stay with you whilst your brother is away. Drinking during pregnancy can cause serious brain damage to the baby, which I am sure you are aware of.
If she doesn’t want to stay with you, try arranging to catch up with her a few times a week a least that way you will be able to know for sure if she is drinking or not as you will be able to smell it on her.

We should do nothing,If you chose to be an alcoholic (and you do chose no one made you start drinking except you) then that’s your God given right.Just like if I wanted to be a doctor that’s my choice and right.I think all drugs should be over the counter like they are in most other countries,Let the addicts fall where thay may.But no welfare for addicts.You can not right a law that will stop an addiction.If an addict choses to use thats their choice let them live with it.

I quit drinking about 2 months ago because i found that although i only drank once a week whenever i did drink I would drink way to much and get really, really drunk. I want to be able to drink again but I am afraid that i will not be able to stop and binge drink again. How do i start drinking again bt make sure i don’t binge drink?

i’m really sick and tired of using. i really would love to stop using but i don’t know how. is there a step by step program that i could download off of the internet that’ll make stop injecting, sniffing, and smoking heroin?
don’t judge me. being a junkie isn’t easy, it’s really hard. i don’t have a job. therefore i don’t have money to buy my delicious drugs. not buying my delicious drugs means that i get withdrawals. withdrawals means seeing scary shit. seeing scary shit makes me scared. me being scared usually leads to me shitting myself. which then leads me to take a shower, and then i go and pawn all of my priceless beatles, abba, and nancy sinatra memorobilia. which sucks, you know?
anyways, how can i stop? or how can i get a job that will allow me to continue the habit. thanks:)

no but seriously. i was in rehab two years ago and i had to room with this weird guy named juan who would try to masturbate on me while i was sleeping. don’t they have patches? like they do for people who are trying to quit smoking cigarrettes? i want the easy way out you guys. also, i should mention that i’m also addicting to gambling. i’m like 120,000 dollars in debt because of it. the only reason i started gambling was so that i could keep up the habit.
so now i would also like to add to my question? how do i quit using and how do i get 120,000 dollars? thanks.
