My girlfriend and I talked… After, I feel like I am much older than I actually am. Am I doing things right?
Nov 2nd
Question by Loki: My girlfriend and I talked… After, I feel like I am much older than I actually am. Am I doing things right?
On a previous question, I was inquiring others’ thoughts on jealousy. My girlfriend got a little jealous because I fixed her sister’s tire. She tried to make me jealous, but that attempt ended up backfiring. She ended up embarrassed, and wouldn’t speak to me.
So, when she was laying down in her bed, I casually grab a spot beside her. She rolls over to her side with her back to me. I pay her no attention for a few minutes. After, she kicks my foot. I do the same. She then starts shoving me off the bed with her butt.
I get off the floor and punch her butt. She gets up and we end up wrestling around. Nothing serious, just foolishness. I let her pin me on my back and she tells me to never embarrass her like that again. I told her she deserved it and she puts a pillow on my face. We wrestle a little more until we are just laying there.
We start talking about random things. Eventually, she started talking about our age differences. I am 24 and she is 30. She told me I act much more mature for my age. She asked me why… I didn’t know how to say it without upsetting her.
Truth is, her father recently passed. She has some regrets about it, for she didn’t get to tell him she loved him. My father passed a while ago. He was a drug addict and an alcoholic. I regret it, for I told him he was worthless the last time I had seen him. A week later, he died. I hated myself everyday for that.
He left my mother with a lot of debt and a house that needed fixing up. We all fixed up the house, but the debt remains. My brother and I stay to help her with the bills so she doesn’t get thrown out due to foreclosure. After college, I will be moving out.
I took a gaze at my life before that. I was very immature. Didn’t have a job, cared about only myself, skipped school, was always high on some sort of pills… My neighborhood didn’t help; we live right outside section 8. Racism is definately apparent here. I was one of the only white kids in school.
After my father passed, I don’t know what happened. I grabbed my diploma, got a good job. Stopped drugs, went off to college where I sustain a 3.7 GPA. I make sure the bills are paid and rather cook than get fast food. I work out to keep in shape. Just looking back on it made me realize how quick I matured…
Most of my friends are older than me. I have a FRIEND that is 63 years old. Usually, age difference is a factor to being able to relate to another, but he and I just get along very well. Another friend of mine is 36 and we hang out all the time. I don’t know, but I get along quite well with others much older than myself. I guess it is no surprise as to my girlfriend being 30.
Thing is, she is actually my first girlfriend. I am very confident with my looks and person, but I was very mysogynistic for the longest time. My mother cheated on my father when I was young, and it really messed him up. I didn’t want that for myself, so I pretty much treated all girls like dirt. It isn’t like that now, for my mother and I really talked about it after a huge explosion at the house.
I told her all of this, and I felt kind of odd. Good, but embarrassed. A mixed feeling. My girlfriend started to cry because she started thinking of her father. I told her it was alright, that I was there. She asked me if I truly love her.
Thing is, I told her already that I did. We had a fight before I told her — a big one. We have been together for 4 months, and we have been through A LOT. But, now, I felt like I loved her more than ever. I throw the blanket over us, and tell her that everything outside this blanket doesn’t matter. What is inside is ours, and nobody elses.
We ended up dozing off for a bit. Now, I am thinking that maybe I am much older than I actually am. I don’t even look my age; I look like I am 17 as my girlfriend tells me. I haven’t had sex with her yet. I could, but I am still a virgin. I will admit it with no shame. Not because I couldn’t lose it, but it is of choice.
I really want to make love to her, but kind of unsure. It takes years to construct skyscrapers, but it is all crumbled in an instant. She is gorgeous. Trust me, I am a perv, but not a pig. I have desires — more than most — like any other man. It is just that I am really at a crossroads because I actually care for this woman, and I am finding it hard to believe. What should I do?

Celebrity – Is being poor a bigger crime than actually breaking the law?

Question by Go go Gadget: Celebrity – Is being poor a bigger crime than actually breaking the law?
R. Kelly, R&B singer charged with child molestation rebounded quite well, with multi-platinum selling records during and after his trial. Sell-out shows on tour.
Mike Tyson, world-renown boxer, spent 6 years in prison for rape and he’s still making money throough film and book deals. If any of us were convicted rapists, could we even get within 500 yards of a movie set?
Robert Downey Jr, actor. Here’s an idea, let’s line up all the heroin junkies in America to audition for the lead role in the next summer blockbuster.
Kobe Bryant, NBA star. Charged with rape. Seems like it’s been all-but-forgotten. Hey, he did get the Lakers another ring last year and he’s the best player in the NBA!
O.J. Simpson, ex-NFL star and small time actor. Hm. Can’t call this one, but something tells me he still has access to luxuries the average murderer doesn’t.
Mickey Rourke, actor. Seems to be getting a lot of big movie roles for an alcoholic who has beaten his ex-wives. Wonder if my employers could overlook arrests for domestic violence.
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, rapper and small time actor. Ex-con? Ex-drug dealer? Worth 0 million+, working with movie legends like DeNiro and Pacino? Not bad.
Eminem, rapper. Skirmishes outside night clubs, violence against the mother of his child, weapons charges. Sounds like a winner.
Roman Polanski, movie director. This guy drugged and sodomized minors. He even fled the country to avoid prosecution. Hollywood still came to his defense. If I am rich, I wonder if people will still come to my defense if I am drugging and violating minor children.
Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, rapper and entertainment mogul. Jay-Z was charged with stabbing a man and pleaded down to a lesser charge and was given 3 years probation. But, he’s rich now. Would you overlook my attempted murder if I became big and powerful, too? Would you let your kids around me? Well, apparently beautiful women don’t mind, do they Beyonce?
Tim Allen, actor. Yep, Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor spent 28 months in federal prison for cocaine trafficking. Still love the guy.
Paris Hilton? Lindsay Lohan, anyone? The list goes on..
I understand they can afford top notch attorneys to get out of the situations they find themselves in, but is there really a stigma associated with being a criminal or do we just dislike poor people? Some of the lists did the time or were accused before the fame, Tim Allen. What do you think? I mean, would you pay to watch a film starring the local sexual predator the next block over? Would you let a convicted rapist within 50 yards of your home?

Guess what? HUMANS ARE STUPID! DUDE, were evolving. what does this have to do, well we made up money and many other things, that were good and bad, well, you are happier normal, then rich, if ur rich, u always want more and more and more, and being normal well, you dont expect that! so when you want more, and u dont get it, you get mad, leading to, well you know, so, if ur rich and not stupid, as i would say, you control and have a happy life of being rich!

Q&A: My girlfriend just dumped me and I feel worse than heroin withdrawal. I might go back to the needle again.?
Mar 30th
Question by X X: My girlfriend just dumped me and I feel worse than heroin withdrawal. I might go back to the needle again.?
I am 18 and have been using heroin off and on since I was 14.
Anyway, my girlfriend of 3 years just dumped me out of the blue for another guy who is wealthier and more attractive and all around superior to me in every way.
This girl and I lost our virginity to each other at age 15 and she is my everything. We said we’d get married have two daughters a nice house the whole nine yards american dream. We complete each other.
Every since the day I saw her in the hall at school when we made eye contact for the first time to the first time we had sex and after the sex was over we just laid in each others arms awake all night in a euphoric memorized blissful state. It was the best night of our lives.
Now, after all the time, money, love, and emotions I have invested in her I’m getting hit like Wall Street on Black Tuesday.
I have been slamming heroin off and on for as long as I can remember, and I’ve been through some pretty shitty withdrawals, but this absolutely takes the cake. I’ve never been suicidal before when detoxing from H but losing this girl makes me want to kill myself. The depression is absolutely unbearable. I have no self-confidence anymore and nothing matters at all. I feel worthless and I want to die.
I think I’m going to go back to the needle and use again to get that euphoric rush that I can no longer have naturally, which will replace the unbearable pain with pure pleasure.
I don’t want to be addicted again though, I don’t know what to do.
That girl was like a drug to me, and the withdrawal was hell. And the worse part is I can’t control her. If I want her back, I can’t have her. At least with heroin, I am in control and if I decide I want it back in my life, I can have it.
Help me. I don’t know what to do. I’m a depressed junkie either way, with this girl or drugs, doesn’t matter.

Why do you think most college students regard binge drinking as a normal rather than deviant behavior?
Jan 27th
Question by KCMO girl: Why do you think most college students regard binge drinking as a normal rather than deviant behavior?
Which do you think would be more effective in stopping binge drinking on a campus, informal or formal social control and why?
This is strictly speaking from a sociological perspective
Best answer:
Answer by Nile Dave
It is to do with their social surrounding and the sub-culture they are in. A sub-culture is a group within a culture that shares some of the values with the wider culture but with distinct differences. The fact that most citizens find binge drinking to be deviant means that it goes against their social norm, it is considered to be an odd behaviour. The fact that most college students (generalising) binge drink means that it is within their norm (normal behaviour) due to their sub-culture and find it normal and not deviant. This also works in the converse, if you went to a party and didn’t drink, it would go against the social norm and you would look odd. People who are deviant are labelled (Becker 1976).
Informal social control – if you stuck posters on a wall and made new legislation’s for the campus then would everyone follow? The fact that everyone is binge drinking in the first place and being deviant indicates that a different informal approach is needed to influence their behaviour and change their perception. Whilst one-to-one shock sessions may work, it is too expensive and time consuming to do so a informal means needed. Maybe getting some of the leaders of a social group to not drink or to start a charity campaign — like give money to charity instead to alcohol would help as it affects people on a deeper level, but definitely informal social control as this is the most persuasive technique to affect social norms. As more people not drink, it adds pressure to those that do and leads to anxiety and pressure (Holmes and Rahe 1976) and they will be considered deviant.

Is black tar heroin a cleaner drug than painkillers like oxycontin and roxicet?
Jan 2nd
Question by trey: Is black tar heroin a cleaner drug than painkillers like oxycontin and roxicet?
I have a few friends who have been using heroin for months , or even years. They smoke it,they do not shoot it up or snort it.
They are telling me that black tar heroin is one of the least harmful drugs of all the drugs out there, such as meth, cigarettes and crack.
While it is still harmful of course, they tell me is isnt near as much as man-made opiates such as hydrocodone, oxycodone, contin and roxicet etc..
Is this true? Or are they just telling me this to “ease” the idea of them being a junkie?
Best answer:
Answer by ToxLabRat
In one aspect they are correct, however it is not specific to just heroin. All opioid agonists (which is the class of drugs that heroin, oxycodone, hydroconde, etc. fall into) are some of the least harmful on the body from a chemical standpoint. Many heroin and opiate addicts can live well into their golden years. One of the main reasons for this is tolerance build up. When you look at a drug like cocaine for instance, you could take one person who had never taken cocaine in their entire life and have them snort one line of the drug. That high will only last for a matter of minutes due to the short half-life elimination. So, with that being said, a high that lasts mere minutes already makes that drug much more dangerous in respect to an opiate, as the good majority of opiates give a systemic effect that lasts for hours. The other thing to consider is when still examining that theoretical individual who just did their first line of cocaine, when they do come down from that high, then the next time they use the drug, it will take close to double the amount to get the same effect as before, and then the next time it will take double that second dose, and on and on and one, until eventually their heart just cannot take it anymore.
Opiates which are not mixed with any other amplifying agent (like tylenol or ibuprofen) are pretty harmless to the main internal organ groups. So, as long as the person is not using dirty needles or does not take too large of a dose at once (due to not understanding their limitations), then the risk to their physical health is much less than those on other drugs such as crystal meth and cocaine, even alcohol. Now it does not eliminate the psych issues that can plague drug users. It also does not account for the case of quality control issues, as since heroin is an illegal street drug, you are not getting this stuff from FDA regulated manufacturing facilities where process controls are in place to reduce the risk for bad batches of drugs. So if you get your hands on some heroin that was made in a toxic environment, by someone not experienced in the extraction and refinement processes then you could run a risk for ingesting product which is laced with toxic components, and in that case it would be those components that would put you in harm’s way and not so much the opioid agonist itself.
Now in comparison to heroin being a cleaner or higher quality drug than oxycodone or hydrocone or any other Rx drug, then that is absurd (unless you are buying these Rx drugs overseas where the quality control programs and regulatory compliance programs are poor or nonexistent). All Rx and even OTC drugs are regulated very strongly by the FDA. The facilities that manufacture these drugs are audited by the FDA routinely, they are bound to test every single batch of the products they produce to make sure that all QC parameters are in acceptable ranges thus ensuring that they are not putting an adulterated product on the shelves. As I stated before, heroin is not typically produced in legal drug manufacturing facilities and therefore you could be getting the stuff from someone who is growing the poppy flowers in contaminated soil, performing the extraction process in dirty equipment which is probably old, rusty and coated with all kinds of toxic impurities. Also it is typically being done by someone who knows next to nothing about chemistry or drug development.
