OK…so would your chances of being an alcoholic be lower if you drank something with a lower alcohol content than one with a higher one? Or does it matter?
Also…i have a friend who believes that she can either drink nothing or get drunk out of her ass (when she turns 21 of course) and she says that since she has poor impulse control she’ll do the latter…do you think it would be best for her to just avoid alcoholic drinks altogether and how can i tell her?

My daughter has been with the same loser boyfriend for 5 years. They have a child together. They both lived with me for a year until I found out he was on heroin again. I kicked his worthless a*s out of my house but she is still with him. This loser is now sleeping on his mommy’s couch and is back on the junk again. He has been addicted to heroin off and on for 5 years. I tried to speak about it to her the other day and said that “No one is going to break them up”. This loser is begging her to get an apartment so he can quit mooching off his mommy and mooch off of her. She has a really decent job but almost all her money goes to this crybaby. I guess even junkies mom is tired of taking care of a 30 year old drug addict. My daughter seems to think she can save this worthless piece of crap. She is 23 years old so its not like I can force her to break up with junkie. I tried to understand and be there for them both but after five years I just gave up. Everyone says to tough it out, that she will come to her senses sooner or later, however it has been five years and she can not seem to snap out of it. I banned him from my house so they sit out in his car in front of the house. She can’t go anywhere without him knowing, he has total control over her. She believes everything this junkie tells her, he even told her he watches her baby when she is working. I watch the baby for her, not him, but she believes everything he says. He treats the baby like shit, always yelling at her he has never bought the baby anything. He didn’t even get her a present for her birthday, he had to have his heroin instead.
I guess you can tell I really hate this guy. I wished he would go away and never come back. However, leeches like him find a gulible girl and latch on for life. After one nasty fight I told my daughter sometimes I wished he would just die so she could be free. She told me she wished I was dead too and off her back. My girlfriends told me that this is destroying my relationship with my daugther. Sad thing is I think it is already destroyed. If she had to choose today she would choose him. If it wasn’t for my grandchild I would have thrown her out too.
Anyway she just might get her wish about me dying. This has been effecting me mentally and physically. I used to be happy go lucky and laugh all the time. Now I am just sad and bitter. I am having bad headaches and now I just found out the tumors are back. I am facing major surgery again. I truly think the bitterness had an effect on me and that could be why they came back. I haven’t even told her how sick I am. Why bother. Too bad I may die and leave my grandchild being raised around a junkie. His dad was/is a junkie living with his mommy, now he is a junkie living off his mommy. What chance does this baby have?
God I just hate this guy. I guess what I am asking is what to do? I dont want to be figthing cancer and her. Can’t throw her out because of the baby, can’t get custody of the baby because I need to the money to cover my expenses while I recover from the surgeries.
Any help?

And who asks people for money to help with food etc but spends it on drugs. Would you think poorly of this person? How would your perception of the person change?

I would think that this person needs to be committed into a drug rehabilitation program.
No, I would not “think poorly” of this person. Drug addiction is not a moral litmus test.
But if the person were involved in my life in any way, I would move heaven and earth to place them into a rehabilitation program. They are never going to have any life, any life at all, unless they kick the addiction. And it’s almost impossible to do on your own.

I hung out with the WRONG person last week, one thing lead to another and we drove to get some heroin. I’m not a junkie, never even done it, I was just drunk and curious and it’s hard for me to say no to friends. He said he would give me a clean needle, was never able to find one, so I tried to use his after he used it. He washed it with water 5 times before, put it in me, withdrew blood, but then the needle clogged.
Anyways, we drove home and got pulled over by a cop. He was driving and he got a ticket for speeding, but thankfully the cop didn’t search the car. We had a heroin spoon in the dashboard, and I was freaking out the whole time. Thankfully, I’m home and safe and not in jail/prison.
I’ve been worrying ever since if I could have contracted something, but I’m trying to focus on the positive rather than the negative, so how much time in prison/jail would I have gotten if the cop did search the car? I live in Texas.

3 years MINIMUM. Yes you could have gotten something. Heroin is like, the worst drug there is, stay away from that person, he ins`t a friend.

i was thinking of having it recited over an ill looking junkie guy sitting back doing heroin and when it says “silly boy dont you know” having him like morph into an ugly monster and like rip stuff up and then morph back and for the last line have him like pass out and have a close up on the needle rolling out of his hand. what do you think? the poem would be recited slowly in sort of in a sad whisper.

I’m leaving on vacation for a month and I’m wondering if you can develop an addiction to alcohol after binging out for a month. I’m 19, 80kg. I’m trying to quit cigarettes and weed with alcohol (I know not smart). Also because I don’t normally drink a lot, maybe once or twice a month, what are the possibilities of alcohol poisoning?

U must be kidding,
There can only be 2 outcomes here and both are bad.
1. You will drop and be taken to hospital, stomach pumped and given a hell of a lecture. Probably happen somewhere around 2-3 weeks in.
2. You will die.
And if you do make it through 1 month you will develop serious problems with liver, kidneys, heart, stomach. Or in other words die.

You are on a top secret mission on behalf of the good guys. You have to eject out of your plane in emergency into enemy land. The enemy capture you and want the information from you. Would you tell them what they want to know strightaway, or would you tell them when they apply this 5 level program to you:
Level 1- You will be left in a dark sound-proof room that alternates from extreme heat to extreme cold every 2 hours, for 24 hours. – will this make you talk?
Level 2 – 10 very large rats will be left to gnaw at your head & body which is strapped to a table – ready to talk?
Level 3 – You will be prepared for surgery and parts of your spine will be removed so you will never walk again.
Level 4 – Another surgery and nerves will be moved in your back to cause blinding pain every-time you move.
Level 5 – You would be turned into a junkie and shot up with heroin. Only if you talk will you get a fix.
Could you with-stand this if the enemy caught you?

Age restriction is a major reason.
Kid will always want to do wat they are not allowed to. They end up considering that drinking is bravery, a grown up thing, and the booze makers are peddling along their wares presenting drinking as smart, sexy, manly and what have you.
In Southent Europe (Italy, Greece, S. France) where there are no such restrictions, binge drinking is not an issue, and alcoholism rates much lower. The kids are given an occassional sip of wine in family gatherings or celebrations (which they generally decline after they taste it), and it is not forbidden to have a drink if you so please at a younger age.

like just say you could be a meth addict or a heroin addict for a day and feel there pain and what its like to be a junkie but then the next day you wake up and you are back to yourself with full memory about what it was like would you try it????

I would probably kill myself if I was a heroin addict. They suffer so much when they become addicted.
